Maize Maze 2009 - Maze Trap

Rufford Maze - Fortune Teller “Our planet is getting warmer and the Polar Ice is melting! Waste and pollution have led to the rise of the Junk Monsters - clumsy, bio-robots controlled by the evil Cap'n Skuttler and his band of stinky cockroaches. Luckily Junk Monsters are easily corn-fused and we have planted giant maize maze traps to capture them. Help me and my friends to locate the 'monster in the maze', shut it down and help to save the world!”
  • Enter the Maze Trap
  • Search for the knowledge that will defeat the Junk Monster
  • Discover the secret code that will shut it down
  • Do your bit to save the planet
Rufford Maze - entry sign For 2009 our theme explores environmental issues and brings to life, concerns over pollution and sustainability in the form of a bunch of moronic miscreants known as the ‘Junk Monsters’. Our farms form the front line of the resistance in the battle against these pesky polluters and one man, ‘Renegade the Agri-Hero’ is leading the campaign to trap and destroy these scrapbots by the ingenious use of the Maize Maze. The theme uses the imagery of robots, environment, sustainability and resources. A variation on this theme - ‘Polar Trek’, explores the familiar motif of wildlife and endangered animals from around the world. Maze designs have included; Wind Turbines, Polar Bear, Snow Leopard and of course, Junk Monsters. The maze quiz focuses on collecting knowledge that will enable the visitors to work out a shutdown code to defeat the trapped monster. It will also give them the knowledge they need to help them live a more sustainable lifestyle.

What we think ......
We have had great fun this year developing the Maze Trap theme and creating artwork and games for the season. There has been a fantastic response to the environmental theme and farm parks have been going Junk Monster Crazy. Take a look at the gallery to see just how inventive people are...To the Junk Monsters!
